October 25^th, 2019. Mexico City, Mexico. Fronton Mexico in downtown Mexico City was the perfect stage to celebrate the EY Entrepreneur of the Year gala, an evening to recognize the achievements of individuals and companies that have demonstrated vision, leadership and a continuous commitment to improve their communities.  

Out of the almost 30 distinguished businessmen and women nominated, Xavier Lopez Ancona, Founder and President of KidZania, was awarded as 2019 EY Entrepreneur of the Year as a recognition to his career, creativity, his ability to face demanding challenges and promote a positive impact in Mexico. 

In 2019, the EY Entrepreneur of the Year program celebrates its 10^th anniversary in Mexico, term during which 355 finalists from 290 different companies have been acknowledged for bringing their ideas to reality and transforming their surroundings by creating more than 150,000 jobs and driving revenue to their industries.

Back in 2010, Xavier was also awarded by EY as Entrepreneur of the Year in the Media and Entertainment Industry. Now, by being recognized in the “Consolidated” category, Mr. Lopez Ancona will also represent Mexico at the EY World Entrepreneur of the Year ceremony that will take place in Monte Carlo, Monaco in 2020, where winners from the 145 cities in which this program operates, will compete to be honored with the global edition of this accolade.  Previous recipients from this award include renowned entrepreneurs from companies like Genomma Lab, Volaris, Unifin Financiera, Devlyn Group in Mexico; and Cirque du Soleil, Chobani, Equity Bank Limited, Imperial Holdings and Infosys Technologies in its international edition.
