New York, Kidscreen, December 6, 2011 (English). The second annual iKids conference – a Kidscreen Summit companion event dedicated to all things related to kids and digital – has drawn the attention of two of the biggest digital properties to emerge in the last five years, Angry Birds and Club Penguin.
This year’s event, which will take place on February 6 at the Hilton New York, will be offering case studies on both of these properties as well as a full lineup of presentations and panel discussions designed to explore the intersection of mobile content, social media and web entertainment in the kids space. In Anatomy of a hit: Angry Birds, GM of Rovio North America Andrew Stalbow, promotion & branding leader Larry Seidman and Claes Kalborg, SVP of brand & licensing strategies, will look at how Rovio is managing the branding, entertainment, licensing and promotion of the property. The Club Penguin study will feature Chris Heatherly, VP of product development and franchise at Disney Interactive Media Group, who will discuss the product and its brand extensions in 2012.
Highlights from the event’s Apps & Mobile track include a session that looks at the platform landscape and defines the best strategies for market entry, and a research presentation by London-based Kids Industries checking in on how kids and parents in the US and the UK are buying and engaging with apps.
The Online & Social Media track, meanwhile, will feature a panel discussion about best social media marketing practices for kids brands as well as a research presentation looking at what kids are finding and sharing on YouTube.
Delegates will also be privy to a variety of Digital Download sessions, which feature kids brands, app developers, website operators and technology applications that are pushing the digital media envelope and gearing up for major growth in 2012.
