September 30th, 2019. The International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions, IAAPA, announced the appointment of new key positions that will make up its Members Board in 2020.

Jim Pattison Jr., president of Ripley Entertainment, has been elected as second vice chair for 2020. Moreover, the current board of directors selected 11 new board members for next year.

Xavier Lopez Ancona, president of KidZania, will be part of the Facility Member Directors that will be part of the 2020 IAAPA Board along with 4 other C-suite executives from PortAventura Entertainment, Wonderwood, Chimelong Group Co., Ltd., and Hershey Park.

Regarding his recent appoint as Facility Member Director, Lopez Ancona stated: “I’m honored to be part of IAAPA’s global board. Being a Facility Member Director is a great responsibility and a unique opportunity to share successful ideas and practices among IAAPA Members to find solutions that will benefit the sector in general, drive profit and help to further provide a superb service to visitors worldwide.”

Each one of the elected board members represents a particular stakeholder perspective that will advocate for IAAPA and the amusement industry, while setting the strategic direction for the association.
