KidZania expands its presence in the Americas with the opening of KidZania Costa Rica, the first facility in Central America, which will be located at Oxigeno Human Playground, located in San Francisco de Heredia.

On April 18th 2018, the 25th KidZania Metropolis was officially launched in an event for Industry Partners and media outlets, presided by Javier del Campo, Commercial Director for Cuestamoras Urbanismo and Xavier Lopez Ancona, President of KidZania at the Crowne Plaza Hotel.

During this gathering, Xavier Lopez noted: “For us, it’s a pleasure that Costa Rica joins the KidZania Nation as the first country in Central America to open one of our facilities.”

KidZania San Jose is a strategic market for KidZania since this city will host the first center with a smaller format of our concept; format that shows the adaptability and evolution of the KidZania brand to fit markets with a lower population density”.

Concerning KidZania’s collaboration with Cuestamoras Urbanismo, Lopez Ancona added: “We also want to thank Cuestamoras Urbanismo for their support during this enriching process. We can’t wait for Costa Rican families to get acquainted with our innovative learning and entertainment concept, which aims to empower kids, promote values and develop skills that will help them to Get Ready for a Better World!”

The launch was accompanied by the announcement of the airplane fuselage arrival to Oxigeno, which is an essential element to provide the KidZania experience in all its locations. This is one of the most important milestones before the grand opening in Costa Rica; scheduled for December 2018.

Regarding KidZania’s arrival to San Jose, Javier Del Campo mentioned: Without a doubt, KidZania Costa Rica will help to prepare great global citizens! By participating in role-playing activities, boys and girls will learn about different careers within an innovative environment that will help them to gain expertise, think, analyze and ‘learn by doing’.

Moreover, Bac Credomatic and Dos Pinos are among the companies that have joined KidZania as Industry Partners, in a joint venture to provide real-life experiences that will empower, inspire and support learning for children.

KidZania Costa Rica will have a total operating area of 4,000 squared meters and will have an annual expected attendance of 300,000 children, who will enjoy 34 establishments and over 70 different role-playing activities.
