KidZania Tokyo, a job role-playing theme park for children, is offering two more attractions as it marks its fifth anniversary.

The two new attractions are a beauty salon of cosmetics maker Clinique Laboratories LLC, which opened in October, and a vegetable market of mail order retailer Radishbo-ya Co., which will open Dec. 7.

The mock cosmetics store has proved popular with girls, who work as beauty consultants wearing white uniforms, provide advice about skin care and apply makeup.

At the vegetable market, children will display and sell merchandise after learning about seasonal produce.

The theme park, operated by KCJ Group Inc., is a child-sized replica of a real city based on an ”edutainment” business started by a Mexican entrepreneur.

Children can have a go at 90 professions, including doctor, firefighter and newspaper reporter, and receive pay in the form of ”kidzo” currency for use in the theme park.

Over 4.5 million children, mainly third to fifth grade elementary school children, have visited KidZania Tokyo since it opened on Oct. 5, 2006.

A second theme park, KidZania Koshien, opened in Nishinomiya in Hyogo Prefecture, western Japan, in 2009.
